Welcome to the website of Havant's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) - the Havant Community Partnership.

The current Havant Borough Community Strategy "Stronger Together" (see large picture and infomation below) expires in 2008.  A new, sustainable community strategy for the period 2008-2012 has been drafted by a multi-partner project team from the Havant Community Partnership and your comments are invited.

The Havant Community Partnership (HCP) (Havant's Local Strategic Partnership) was set up to tackle key issues for local people in order to bring about improvements to quality of life in the borough - safe places to live, healthy lifestyles,  good leisure activities, good transport links, job opportunities... in other words, trying to make a difference and make the borough a place people want to live in, work and visit.

Stronger Together

Partnership working has been happening in Havant for some time, but the Havant Community Partnership brings together key organisations and people from public bodies, voluntary and community organisations and business.  The Partnership has developed a Community Strategy, "Stronger Together", which the different organisations are delivering.  The strategy sets out a plan of what the Partnership intends to do and by when, and which partners will do it.  It was published in February 2005.  Follow this link to read "Stronger Together" (PDF version, 155 KB).

The  HCP  consists of the  HCP Board and six Community Boards.  The Community Boards were originally set up as part of Havant Borough Council's Liveability Programme, to work on environmental improvement projects for their localities.  They are now members of the Partnership, giving the community a voice at a strategic level and advising the HCP Board on local issues.  A representative from each Community Board sits on the HCP Board. This makes the Havant Community Partnership unusual among LSP s in Hampshire and nationally, in having community representation at strategic board level.
