What We Did (to January 2007)

Increase the number of new businesses

in the borough by 100, by 2008, through:

  • maintaining and supporting Broadmarsh Business and Innovation Centre and The Brambles Enterprise Centre
  • developing the Council’s former Depot site

  • Penner Road - 15 new businesses established (including Scottish & Southern Energy, replacing Autoliv Ltd)
  • Furuno TechnoCentre also now proceeding (following completion of the Harts Farm Way “Teardrop Junction”)
  • Solent Retail Park (Redevelopment of Solent Road) (under development) - by Hargreaves plc
  • Central Retail Park (formerly Potash Terrace) (under development) - by Seaward Developments – Wickes “Superstore”
  • Council Depot Site (under development via Dwyer plc) (now ready for development and being marketed as Site Four)

 

Increase expansion space for growing businesses by 5-10% by 2008

  • Larchwood Business Park (north of ASDA WalMart) (completed) by Highglade Property Ltd)
  • New Units at Endeavour Business Park, Penner Road (now completed and occupied/ready for occupation)
  • BAe Systems Waterlooville, Technology Park (conversion to sub-let under-utilised space)
  • De La Rue Offices – protected/regenerated (Business Enterprise Centre) – by Seawards.

 

Ensure that a fair and reasonable proportion of funding from the Area Investment Framework is directed towards Havant
