What We Did (to January 2008)

Increase the number of new businesses in the borough by 100, by 2008, through:

New business increase target met (150 new VAT registered businesses identified in 2007)

  • Penner Road - 15 new businesses established (including Scottish & Southern Energy, replacing Autoliv Ltd)
  • Furuno TechnoCentre also proceeding (following completion of the Harts Farm Way “Teardrop Junction”)
  • Solent Retail Park (Broadmarsh) (Solent Road redevelopment by Hargreaves plc) - new units include NEXT, Hobbycraft, Sports Direct, Hlfords, Pets at Home, Pizza Hut 
  • Central Retail Park (formerly Potash Terrace) under development by Seaward Developments - new units include Wickes “Superstore” , ALDI, KFC, Carphone Warehouse
  • Council Depot Site (under development via Dwyer plc) (now ready for development and being marketed as Site Four).  Works to commence on completion of "Rusty Cutter" roundabout works.
 
Increase expansion space for growing businesses by 5-10% by 2008

  • New units at former Procter & Gamble Site, Fulflood Road (under development by Dwyer plc - 7 completed.  Skill Centre proposed 
  • Larchwood Business Park (north of ASDA WalMart) (Highglade Property Ltd) - completed
  • New Units at Endeavour Business Park, Penner Road - completed
  • BAe Systems Waterlooville, Technology Park (conversion to sub-let under-utilised space). Phase 2 (top floor) under development
  • Dakota Business Park, New Lane, by ROK - 18 industrial units
  • LIDL Store, Somborne Drive, Leigh Park (with new Housing Offices) - under construction
  • De La Rue Offices – protected/regenerated (Business Enterprise Centre) – by Seawards. Some spaces let.

 

Ensure that a fair and reasonable proportion of funding from the Area Investment Framework is directed towards Havant
