Develop the Youth Council to represent all schools and groups, by 2005/06.

The Youth Council continues to thrive, representing georgraphical areas across the borough; linking wih Community Boards where possible; and continuing to give young people a voice.
 

Be actively delivering citizenship education in all secondary schools in the borough, by 2007.

Now that schools deliver citizenship within the curriculum this additional support is no longer a priority and is not part of HBC’s work programme.
 
Deliver, in partnership with other youth agencies, 3 community engagement involvement projects a year, by 2006.

Havant Borough Council was awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s “Children’s Play” to run schemes to improve play for children and young people, working in partnership with the Hayling Island Youth Café, Staunton Country Park, Music Fusion and Staunton Community Sports College.
 

Increase participation in the cultural and sporting life of

the borough, by 2008.

Havant Borough Council
The free StreetSport programme for children aged 8-15 years was expanded to include StreetArt workshops and participant numbers have risen to over 3,500.  Funding has also been secured from the Football Foundation to run the project for a further three years. 
 
Support the development of 
at least one library in the borough to achieve Discovery Centre status, by 2008, subject to acquisition
of funding.
 
Hampshire County Council This has not been achieved owing to lack of funding.
