Redevelop Havant Bus Station
by November 2006

Built new 2 storey bus station
building including enclosed waiting
area and shelter, toilet facilities and 'real time' bus Information display.
Reconstructed bus turning area
with 7 operational bays and a coach stop, plus 3 'layover' bays.
Opened on 20th August 2006.
 
HCP partners develop and promote

Advice has been provided and assessments made of travel plans required as part
of the planning process. The Hampshire County Council 'Guide to Development-related Travel Plans'
has been updated.
Other aspects of the Workplace
Travel Plan project being reviewed as part of the ongoing development
of the Smarter Travel Choices
Strategy.
 
Complete A3 Bus Priority Scheme from Portsmouth to Horndean by 2007

Programme extended to cater for increased public consultation, design improvements and on-site delays
owing to unforeseen underground services.
Final phase works in Cowplain have now started and final completion of
all the A3 ZIP Corridor works is expected in June 2008.

New left-turn lane from Park Road South to Solent Road at signalised junction.

Safety improvements adopted as part of the A3 Corridor design at Lovedean Lane/London Road Junction; and at Park House Farm Way/Purbrook Way.

Worked with schools in Hampshire to produce 347 School Travel Plans (58%).  In Havant Borough this breaks down to 29 schools (57%). To date, this has drawn down £1,904,677 in grants from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
Safer Routes to Schools is providing an additional £1million per annum of funding towards measures identified in School Travel Plans.
A3 Corridor cycle and pedestrian improvements support local school travel plans.
 

Improving access to transport for disabled and mobility-impaired people:

Increase the number of wheelchair-capable Hackney Carriages to 5, by April 2005
